Ventilation is rarely at the top of a warehouse manager's priority list — until something goes wrong. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recommends a minimum of 5–8 litres of fresh air per second per occupant, with higher rates required where specific contaminants are present. Failure to meet these standards constitutes a legal risk as well as a duty of care issue.
